On Friday, 20/3/2009, 7 students from 1P4 went to Jurong Eldercare centre to do some Community Involvement stuff. We went there in the morning and only went home at around 3.30
The old folks at the centre were looking very bored. At first we played some passing the ball game, we had to pass the ball and then when the music stops, the person who held the ball have to put up an entertaining performance of some kind. We came really unprepared. At first, we came together to sing the school song. After singing the school song, we decided to sing the ProEd song since most of us knew the song pretty well. Then after the singing of school songs. We as in the whole group of people put up a really entertaining performance.
First, Kevin put up a amazing show of wushu, the old folks there were clapping and cheering at his wonderful performance. Next up, we have WL and NL. Both of them are black belt taekwondo holders. They did their " pattern ". That also lead to the clapping of the old folks. Chairman and Clarence, they put up a interesting story telling session. Then came CH and myself, we had nothing to perform. But as CH had his mobile phone ( he brought along his speaker ), we sang a chinese song.
Then came lunch time, after helping the old folks move to the washing area and seating them down at the tables, we went of for our lunch. Some of us wanted to go to MacDonalds, but some of us wanted to go to the food court nearby, but because we cannot find a MacDonalds, we decided to have our lunch at the nearby food court.
When we came back, we played games with the old folks.
At about 3.30, we left the place. It was no doubt a super memorable event. I will always remember the old folks expression. By only looking at their expression, our weariness was totally gone.
